Our Company
ERcoder Inc, was founded in 1996 to meet the need for coding professionals that focused strictly on emergency medicine. Accurate coding is an essential part of every successful modern emergency practice. Improper coding leads to lost revenue, delayed reimbursement, and creates a liability for your practice in the event of a carrier audit. Keeping abreast of the continuous fluctuations in federal and state regulations is a never-ending responsibility. Emergency physicians must have access to knowledgeable coders with specialty specific experience in emergency medicine. We offer coding services, coding & documentation training for coders and/or physicians and external chart audits to ensure optimum reimbursement for the physician services provided in the emergency department.
Our President
Our president, Todd Thomas, has become a nationally renowned author and lecturer on Emergency Physician coding topics. He is a founder of the Oklahoma Chapter of the American Academy of Professional Coders and he has served as Secretary, President-Elect and President of the Oklahoma Chapter .
He has developed and presented coding seminars for several groups and organizations, including the Oklahoma State Medical Association, the Louisiana Medical Association and The Coding Institute / ED Coding Alert. He is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board for ED Coding Alert and is frequently quoted in their publications ED Coding Alert and Medical Coding Wire. He has also been featured on the panel of experts at the American College of Emergency Physicians Coding and Reimbursement seminars for the last 8 years and will be again in 2009. He is also one of the few non-physician members of the Coding and Nomenclature Advisory Committee for The American College of Emergency Physicians.
